A Culinary Journey: Event Recap
On October 25th, Block & Rooster Provisions had the pleasure of creating an unforgettable dining experience for a wonderful group of guests. The evening began with a lively cocktail hour in the basement bar, where guests enjoyed a trio of tantalizing small bites: Seared Scallops with Remoulade, Crab Salad Spoons, and Lamb Rack Lollipops. Each bite was a perfect combination of flavor and elegance, setting the stage for the evening ahead.
As the guests moved into the living room, the night transitioned into a carefully curated four-course meal.
The cocktail Hour
These Apps (in my opinion) were perfectly selected for the evening! Each offering more deep flavor than the last. I’m convinced these were the BIG winners of the evening!
Seared Scallops w/ Remoulade & Crab Salad
Both of these Apps sourced locally from Seaside Heights, NJ.
U-10 Scallops Seared with a creamy cajun remoulade. Jumbo Lump Crab, Kewpie, Scallion
Lamb Lollipop’s
These Lamb Racks we’re meticulously Frenched Cleaned from the bone) and Sous vide to grantee that perfect cook! Seared on-site till golden brown and finished with flake salt.
Salad: Autumn Salad
The meal opened with an Autumn Salad, a harmonious medley of mixed greens, roasted butternut squash, pepitas, a parmesan crisp, and a house-made fig balsamic dressing. This seasonal starter was a crowd favorite, balancing fresh and earthy notes.
Appetizer: Tuna Tartare with Wonton
Next came a beautifully presented Hummus Plate Appetizer. With smooth, creamy hummus as the centerpiece, it was complemented by fresh vegetables and warm pita for dipping. Finished with a splash of olive oil and a sprinkle of Lemon zest. As an at-home chef for hire, our focus is always on creating comforting, shareable plates that feel both familiar and special.
INTERMEZZO: Lemon Sorbet w/ Mint
To cleanse the palate, a refreshing Lemon Sorbet with Mint was served, offering a zesty and aromatic pause between courses
Entree: Filet Diane
The main event was a succulent Filet Diane, paired with Garlic Roasted Asparagus and a velvety Parsnip Puree. This course brought a perfect balance of richness and refinement, leaving everyone delighted.
Dessert: Zabaglione
The evening concluded on a high note with Zabaglione, a luscious Italian custard served with fresh fruit. Its light, airy texture was the perfect ending to a sumptuous meal.
